It's that time of year at Protein Package - the scariest and spookiest time of the year that happens on October 31st every year - the dreaded.... Tax Return.

That's right folks, it's our tax year-end on 31st October 2024 which is the day we dread the most every year as it means we've got to count every single protein bar, energy drink and pre-workout tub that we have on every shelf in the entire warehouse and shop. This is so we can be sure to pay HMRC the correct amount of tax for the year just gone - Halloween always finds a way to cheer you up, doesn't it?!

Now, if it was our choice, we'd much rather be shipping off orders and engaging with all our customers but unfortunately, we are legally obliged to do this so there isn't really a way around it other than to get a hefty fine (which nobody wants).

In previous years we have tried to pack orders and run customer service alongside doing the stock take but with the size we've scaled to in 2024 (thanks to you guys) - we think that it might now be virtually impossible to get the stock levels correct whilst still fulfilling all of your orders.

This is why we have reluctantly decided to have a mini-shutdown from 3pm on Wednesday 30th October until Friday 1st November 2024 so that the team has two full working days to get accurate stock levels and get everything back in place to resume as normal from Monday 4th November.

This means any orders placed after Wednesday 30th October at 3pm will most likely be shipped on Monday 4th November. Customer service support will also be limited on these days.

Now, we're going to still ship your orders via the service you pick so if you choose express delivery (estimated 1-2 full working days), it will still go on an express delivery service and we will pay the courier for that still but dispatch will be from Monday 4th November instead. For example, an order placed Thursday morning will be shipped most likely on Monday's collection. If we do the stock take sooner, of course, we will ship orders sooner.

One other little thing to note, as this is a one-off thing, we aren't going to re-code the entire website to update our dispatch times on all our pages and systems so please kindly refer to this page for the correct estimated dispatch times instead of any other as this page supersedes them.

Again, guys, this isn't something we have chosen or wanted to do but we believe it is the best solution for this year's tax return and you can still place orders as normal online.
